Monday 26 September

No prizes for guessing the final destination for today

We were joined on our tour of Tuscany by Gina, from Michigan in the US, who is studying in Florence for the semester. She is now an honorary Kozlowski!

We started in Siena which, according to legend, was founded by the two sons of Remus

Siena's Piazza del Campo

This is a photo of the Palio di Siena, a horse race that is held twice a year in the city square known as the Piazza del Campo. People jam pack the middle of the square and the area surrounding the race track

I couldn't see a groom

No wonder this poor boar got shot, he didn't have his glasses on at the time

The Siena Cathedral

Siena has its own football team and stadium

Lunch time at a vineyard

The views weren't bad - the town of San Gimignano. We were headed there after lunch

I didn't go away empty handed

Taken at San Gimignano

A type of fishing on the banks of the River Arno in Pisa

Pisa

A bit of Australia in Pisa

The Piazza dei Miracoli

Someone had to do it

You have to get past him to climb the tower

Back in Florence for the most delicious meal at Bistrot La Capannina. A great finish to a brilliant day
